DePauw Athletics Hall of Fame
When she earned all-America honors in 2014, Paige Gooch Bolander then joined hall of famer Sarah Gates ’07 as the only four-time all America honorees in DePauw women’s golf history. As a senior she garnered first team honors after three seasons on the second team. Her 78.2-stroke average over 25 rounds was the second-best average in a DePauw season at the time and currently fifth in program history. Bolander was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Year in 2014 for the second straight time after winning her second consecutive NCAC title. She earned similar honors in 2011 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference prior to being named the Division III Freshman of the Year. Bolander finished her career with a 79.02 average over 98 rounds which broke the previous DePauw record of 79.07 held by Gates and stood until 2019. During the 2013-14 season, Bolander won five of the 11 tournaments in which she competed with 10 finishes in the top 10. During her career she won 10 events and was a top-10 finisher 32 times. The Tigers finished no worse than eighth at the national championships in those four years and matched the program’s best finish with a second place showing in 2012. As an individual, Bolander finished in the top 14 three times in her four NCAA appearances. An NCAA Top 30 honoree for Woman of the Year and one of just 10 in Division III, Bolander was an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient. She earned the NCAC’s Pam Smith Award which recognizes the conference’s senior female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service, and leadership.
DePauw’s Amy Hasbrook Award recipient in 2014, Bolander was a two-time Academic All-America® honoree. Bolander was selected to the SCAC’s 30th anniversary women’s golf team for the years 2006-20.Â
Following graduation, she worked in finance at Eli Lilly for five years in Indianapolis and earned sponsorship from the company to pursue an MBA at Duke University from 2019- 2021. Bolander returned to Lilly in 2021 and continued a finance career. She’s served in alumni support roles for Alpha Chi Omega and has been involved with a local church and small group Bible study. She continues to help with Eli Lilly new hire training programs as well as assisting DePauw through recruiting and mentorship. In 2019 she married Brendan Bolander ’14 and they are the parents to Olivia.
