Spin Splash Dash Indoor Triathlon

SPIN, SPLASH & DASH INDOOR TRIATHLON

Sunday, February 22, 2026 - on-site registration begins at 1:15pm, first competition waive begins at 2pm

Competitors may arrive beginning at 1:15 PM on Sunday, February 22 to register in the Lilly Center Lobby; we encourage competitors to register ahead of time if at all possible. Erdmann Natatorium will be available 1:30 PM-1:50 PM for warm-ups; participants competing in later heats may warm up in lanes 9 and 10, space permitting. All participants should be on the pool deck, ready to compete, 15 minutes before their wave time and there will be a brief meeting to cover all event rules and procedures 5 minutes before each wave. The first wave will begin promptly at 2 PM, and subsequent waves will start at 2:30 PM, 3 PM, and so forth until all participants have gone. 

Each segment is 20 minutes; distances will be recorded on score cards and each individual will have one card. At the end of each segment, an official timekeeper will record distance on your card and move to the next segment with you; competitors are not responsible for their own time cards. After the running segment, all cards will be submitted to the officials and final places will be determined. 

All segments will be started by a DePauw official.

  • Swimmers may start either in the water or from a standing start on the side of the deck (no running starts). Swimmers should start only when prompted by the official starter. 

  • Upon finishing the swimming segment, competitors will be required to change into dry clothing and athletic clothes before proceeding to the biking segment. Competitors will have 10 minutes for this transition.  Please be safe when moving through the building.

  • Competitors will be directed from the pool to the bikes (moving from locker rooms directly to hallways and not through the pool deck) in the Welch Fitness Center, and the biking segment will begin promptly 10 minutes after the respective swim start (2:30 PM for the first bike segment). Distance will be recorded by your official timekeepers.

  • Following biking, competitors will stay in Welch Fitness Center and run on the provided treadmills. You will have 5 minutes for this transition. Competitors will be allowed to adjust speed and incline of the treadmill to their liking. Total distance will be recorded.

  • Scoring: Run points are simply your miles, bike points are your miles multiplied by 0.33, and swim points are your number of miles multiplied by 3.33 (or yards multiplied by 0.0019). Your total score is the sum of all three, and the highest score wins.

Here's a reminder of items you should bring with you:

  • Swimming attire, goggles

  • Towel

  • Athletic shoes

  • Clothes to run and bike in

  • Water bottle

  • Lock (if desired)

There will be locker rooms and lockers available for you to use in the Lilly Center.  DePauw is not responsible for items lost or stolen.

General Rules

  • No food, drink (other than water or sports drinks) are permitted in Erdmann and Welch Fitness Center.

  • No glass containers are allowed in the Lilly Center.

  • If you are hurt in any way during the event, please report your injury to your official timekeeper or a member of the DePauw staff.

  • Running, rough play, intoxication, and profanity are prohibited.

  • Personal possessions should be stored in a locker.  DePauw is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • DePauw is not responsible for injuries. 

Splash (Swimming)

  • No street shoes are permitted on the pool deck.

  • Swimsuits are required. No cut-offs, gym shorts, or other attire is allowed. Changing clothes on deck is prohibited. 

  • All participants must change into dry clothes and shoes in the locker rooms before proceeding to the bike segment.

Spin (Biking)

  • Athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn at all times. Open-toed and open-heeled shoes and sandals are not permitted.

  • Workout clothes that fully cover the chest must be worn. Shirts are required at all times. JEANS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

Dash (Running)

  • You may adjust the treadmill to any incline or speed.

  • You must wear the emergency stop clip.

  • Athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn at all times. Open-toed and open-heeled shoes and sandals are not permitted.

  • Workout clothes that fully cover the chest must be worn. Shirts are required at all times. JEANS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
