Joe Nixon earned all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors all four years as an honorable mention selection in 1999 and a first-team choice his final three seasons. In 2002 he was selected second team all-America by DIII News after garnering honorable mention in 2001. He ranks fourth in program history with 1,546 career points and eighth with a 15.6 scoring average. Nixon’s 184 career three-pointers made are seventh in program history and his 88 made in 2001- 02 still rank second. His 498 points and 87.8 percent free throw shooting as a senior led the SCAC as he helped the Tigers to the SCAC title and to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals for just the third time in program history. During his four seasons, the Tigers finished with a 75-28 record including 22-4 in 2001-02. He was named to the SCAC 15th anniversary team in 2005 and was a second team CoSIDA Academic All-America® selection in 2002. 

A mathematics major at DePauw, Nixon continued playing professionally for seven years in Europe and Australia before coming back to Indiana to attend law school at IU-lndy. He joined the law firm of Frost Brown Todd and practiced in real estate and public finance before heading out on his own to be a boutique real estate developer in Fishers, Ind. Nixon and his wife Erin Greenlee Nixon ’05 have been married for 15 years with two sons Joey and Ty.
