The Welch Fitness Center is a two-story, 16,000-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness space. It features the latest fitness equipment designed to serve student-athletes and the DePauw community. The top floor features over 50 pieces of cardio equipment from Life Fitness and Cybex, including 20 treadmills, 10 Spin Bikes, eight Ellipticals, seven Arc Trainers, 5 Summit Trainers and four owers. It is also equipped with over 20 Life Fitness Signature Series selectorized and body weight pieces.
The first level is designed to be a free weight space featuring approximately 50 pieces of equipment from nationally recognized Hammer Strength and Power Lift. There are eight double-sided Power Racks, 60 pairs of dumbbells, a set of kettlebells, four Vertimax platforms and various other cable motion and plate-loaded pieces. Another great feature is the 1,000-square-foot space for body weight training, including physioballs, bosu balls and TRX suspension training. In addition, the southeast corner is designated as a medicine ball wall for various throws and tosses.

General Guidelines for the Welch Fitness Center
To access the Welch Fitness Center, please enter the Lilly Center from the main doors on College Avenue. Move through the lobby, past the information desk and turn left. The main doors for the Welch Fitness Center will be immediately in front on you.
Please be aware that there is still active construction in the building so please be aware of your surroundings.
- You will need your ID to enter the facility; for attendance purposes, please swipe your ID card upon entering the facility.
- To help maintain a pristine environment, please bring only water into the facility and wear appropriate shoes (rubber-soled).
- Please wear appropriate work-out clothing and bring your own towel.
- After using the equipment, please use the sanitizing solution to clean the equipment.
- Please re-rack all weights and return items to their original location.
As there are many pieces of new equipment, Athletics staff members will be on hand to answer questions and show you how to use various pieces.
