Amanda Stier Janszen was a four-time NCAA Division III qualifier, earned all-America honors in the 200 butterfly and as part of three relays (all in 2008). She was an honorable mention allAmerica honoree in the 100 fly (2008), 200 fly (2007) and on four relays in 2006. Janszen set school records in the 200 free, 100 fly, 200 fly and as part of four relays and the 100 fly record still stands. DePauw’s 2009 Amy Hasbrook Award winner, Janszen is the career scoring leader with 2,192 points and was all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in 10 individual events. She won five individual titles including 200 fly all four years. Janszen was named SCAC Woman of the Year in 2009 and DePauw’s Amy Hasbrook Award recipient. Janszen was selected to the SCAC’s 30th anniversary women’s swimming and diving team for the years 2005-20.

Following graduation from DePauw, she earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Dayton before working in patient care in facilities in Ohio, Kentucky and Louisiana as clinic director and dry needling specialist. Janszen earned the Clinical Partner Award in 2020 from LSU Health for her services as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students. She made the switch to utilization management in 2022 and currently lead a team of 15 reviewers. Janszen has been a paid and volunteer assistant coach with several year-round swim clubs and continues to participate in masters swimming. She’s earned U.S. #1 national rankings and top-5 World Aquatics rankings, while also volunteering with a USMS national board position. Janszen currently resides in Miami, Fla. with her husband, John Janszen, and their two dogs.
