Katie Doogan Petrusic was a four-time NCAA Championships qualifier who earned all-America honors (top 8 finisher) in the 400-yard individual medley (8th, 2007) and on three relays at the 2008 Championships (200 medley relay/4th, 200 freestyle relay/5th, 400 medley relay/6th). She earned honorable mention all-America (9th-16th finish) three times in individual events and as part of four relays. The 2008 Amy Hasbrook Award recipient graduated with school records in the 100 free, 200 free, 200 IM and 400 IM and as part of five school-record relays. She still holds the school’s 200 IM record. Petrusic was the 2008 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Woman of the Year, a three-time high-point swimmer at the SCAC Championships and the conference’s inaugural Swimmer of the Year in 2008. She is still tied for second in SCAC history with 10 individual titles and is DePauw’s all-time points leader with 2,038.5. She led the team in scoring in 2005 and 2007. In 2021, Petrusic was named to the SCAC’s 30th anniversary women’s swimming and diving team.

Petrusic worked in fundraising at DePauw and during that time helped coach the Greencastle Middle School swim team for a couple of years. She then moved to Chicago for a job in marketing procurement at InnerWorkings. Petrusic was promoted to managing printed products for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., James Hardie building products, Diageo and then Beam Suntory. She serves as a bullpen volunteer for her son’s summer swim meets and during 2021-22 was president of the Kennesaw, Ga., chapter for MOMS Club International. Petrusic is a treasurer for her neighborhood homeowner’s association and hospitality committee chair for St. Catherine’s Catholic Preschool. Petrusic and her husband, Drago Patrusic ’08, are parents to Danny and Bonnie.
