St. Louis, Mo. - The 13th-ranked Tigers totaled 686 points and finished second by just 15.5 points behind Lindenwood at the Washington University Invitational.
Casey Hooker was a double-winner for the Tigers as he won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:41.07 and the 1,650 free in 16:11.84. He also was second in the 200 free in 1:43.86.
Matt Gleason finished second in the 200 individual medley in 1:59.56 and the 100 butterfly in 51.70 seconds and was third in the 200 fly in 1:55.54.
Cameron Wiethoff turned in a third-place showing in the 100 backstroke in 55.77 seconds as did John Montgomery in the 100 free in 47.90. Montgomery was also fourth in the 50 free in 21.95 and fifth in the 200 free in 1:46.65.
Matt Kukurugya finished fifth in both the 100 breaststroke (1:01.51) and the 200 breast (2:15.57). Matt Haeske placed fifth in the 500 free (4:48.41) and was sixth in the 200 free (1:46.85). Jordan Bantista was fifth in the 400 IM (4:21.08) and George Morrison was sixth in the 200 back (2:02.48).
The Tigers' 200 medley relay of Alex Alfonso, Kukurugya, Gleason and Montgomery placed third in 1:36.54, while the 800 free relay of Hooker, Montgomery, Haeske and Alfonso was second in 6:59.55.
DePauw's 400 medley relay of Wiethoff, Kukurugya, Gleason and Andrew Nash was fourth in 3:36.97 with the 200 free relay of Montgomery, Jack Burgeson, Matt Bacinich and Alfonso placing third in 1:26.41.
The 400 free relay of Hooker, Haeske, Alfonso and Montgomery wrapped up the meet with a second-place showing in 3:10.18.
DePauw hosts Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, January 21, at 1 p.m.
