Granville, Ohio - Through the first full day of competition at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, DePauw has totaled 475 points and is third among the eight competing schools. Kenyon leads with 719 points, followed by Denison (602).
Leading the way was Thursday's 500-yard freestyle with Edie Patterson leading the Tigers, finishing 6th (5:00.75) and contributing 27 points to the 59 gained in the event.Â
Cora Gilbert claimed 6th in the following event, 200-yard individual medley, swimming a 2:06.90 and contributing 27 points to the 109 gained in the event. Jacki Ambrose finished 9th in the event, recording a 2:12.66 finish.
Heading into sprint events, Gabby Koon swam a 24.07 in the 50-yard freestyle to claim 24 points for 9th place. Tigers tallied 87 points in the event.
Marina Spera finished tenth in the one-meter dive prelims, with a 232.20 score. She collected 22 points on the board for the Tigers. Leanna Swenson collected 18 points for the Tigers with a 170.95 in the preliminary round.
Finishing with the 400-yard medley relay, the Tigers A-team featured Gilbert, Priscilla Smith, Knott, and Caroline Stowe to claim 3rd in 3:54.14, collecting 60 points.
Tigers tallied 315 points in the pool and 40 on the boards on day two.Â
The Championships continue through Saturday hosted by Denison University.
