Indianapolis, Ind. - Edie Patterson and Cora Gilbert competed in one event each for day two of the NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday.
Starting with women's 200 free prelims for the 10 a.m. session, Edie Patterson finished third in the second heat, clocking a time of 1:52.25 after entering the pool with a seed time of 1:52.07.
At the end of her heat, she claimed the lead. After the fourth, she dropped to 6th and ended in ninth place at the end of prelims. She finished 27th out of 48 in the event.
Senior Cora Gilbert swam in heat one of four for the 400 individual medley, placing 30th with a time of 4:34.14 after entering with a seed time of 4:34.75.
Tigers get a break Friday before returning Saturday. Gilbert will compete in the 200 backstroke seeded 30th with a time of 2:02.21, while Patterson will compete in the 1650 freestyle seeded 12th with a time of 17:07.66.
Prelims start at 10:00 a.m. with finals kicking off at 6 p.m. in the IU Natatorium.
