Romeoville, Ill. - The DePauw women's swimming and diving team walked away with their fourth dual-meet win of the season against Lewis 152.5-108.5, Saturday.
DePauw opened the weekend with strong depth in the 200 medley relay, securing first and third. The Tigers' 'A' squad of carolien Stowe, Priscilla Smith, Emily Knott, and Gabby Koon clocked a 1:47.21 to lead the way.
Distance specialist Lydia Buechler set the tone individually with a 1st-place finish in the 1000 freestyle (10:55.13), marking one of DePauw's top performances of the day.
In the 200-freestyle, Caroline Stowe (1:59.44), Sophia Hulen (2:03.00), and Alexia Monticone (2:03.50) collected nine points for the team.
Cora Gilbert excelled in the pool, collecting two 2nd-place finishes (100 Back (1:00.40) and 200 Back (2:16.34)) before taking first in the 400 IM (4:44.81) - collecting 17 points in individual events.
The Tigers swept the 50 free with freshmen Priscilla Smith clocking a 24.79, followed by Gabby Koon (24.84) and Laurie Antalis (24.92). Smith also contributed heavily in relay events, helping the Tigers to first-place finishes in the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay alongside Caroline Stowe, Emily Knott, and Gabby Koon (1:47.21) and Stowe, Sophia Hulen, and Koon (1:38.66), respectively.
Emily Knott won both individual events she competed in, 200 fly (2:12.67) and 100 fly (59.54).
Stowe, Smith, and Koon proved to be a powerful group of relay swimmers, participating in both winning relay teams.
The Tigers now shift their focus to a senior day dual-meet against Franklin on Saturday, January 17th. Senior day will begin at 12:45 PM ET in Erdmann Natatorium.
