Box Score Wooster, Ohio - DePauw scored three-straight goals in the fourth period to cut a four-goal deficit to one with three minutes left, but host Wooster held on for a 10-8 North Coast Athletic Conference victory. DePauw dropped to 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the NCAC, while the Fighting Scots improved to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
The teams traded goals for the first 22 minutes before Wooster finished the first half with three-straight to take a 6-4 advantage into the intermission. Henry White's score just 53 seconds into the second half brought DePauw back to within one, but the Fighting Scots outscored the Tigers, 2-0, the rest of the period and extended the lead to 9-5 with a goal in the opening minute of the fourth.
Quinn Cashion scored a pair of goals in a 1:01 span early in the fourth and White closed the gap to 9-8 with 3:11 remaining, but Wooster secured the win with a man-up goal from Ben Byars with 1:19 left.
White paced the Tigers with three goals, while Cashion added two. Will Fink scored three for Wooster with three others contributing two goals apiece. Patrick Lawton recorded 11 saves for the Tigers, while Paul Chandler stopped 21 DePauw shots. The Tigers held a 53-28 edge in shots including 29-21 in shots on goal.
The Tigers won 13 of the 22 faceoffs with Jack Kneisley finishing 5-of-7 and Matthew Roman 8-of-15. Charlie Rodriguez led DePauw with seven ground balls and Jimmy Fisher totaled five for Wooster as the Tigers held a 41-29 advantage. DePauw committed 16 turnovers to Wooster's 24.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 9, when it hosts Kenyon in a 1 p.m. NCAC game.
