Granville, Ohio - DePauw men's lacrosse lost 24-6 to the Denison Big Red, wrapping up their season 2-6 in conference play and 6-9 overall for the 2026 season.
The Big Red started hot, putting up the first four goals of the game, but the Tigers fired back at the eight-minute mark with a goal from
Jack Neff, followed three-minutes later by a goal from
Alex Sharma. With nine seconds left in the quarter, Brady Monturio scored for the Big Red, making it 5-2 in favor of Denison heading into the second quarter.
Both teams traded goals in the first three-minutes of the second quarter, with a Tiger goal from
Trevor Martay, before Denison went on a five-goal run to close out the half up 10-3.
Extending their lead, the Big Red continued their goal streak with ten straight goals over the course of ten minutes in the third quarter, until
Oscar Kokke scored for the Tigers with two minutes left in the quarter. Denison scored a last-second goal to end the quarter with a score of 22-4.
Jack Neff scored his second goal of the day in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, and the Big Red recorded two more goals to finish their scoring. The final goal of the day was from
Alex Sharma on a man-up opportunity with two minutes remaining. Leaving the final score: Denison 24, DePauw 6.
DePauw's senior goalkeeper, Anthony Reinheart, totaled 14 saves in his final game, while Denison's four goaltenders recorded six total saves.
DePauw was 17 for 25 on clearing the ball and tallied 28 ground balls, while the Big Red were 12 of 15 on clears and totaled 48 ground balls. The Tigers turned the ball over 21 times during the course of the game, and Denison turned the ball over 18 times. With a total of seven penalties, DePauw was man-down for one minute on two penalties, giving up no goals. While Denison was man-down for three minutes on five penalties, giving up one man-down goal.
With the loss, DePauw finishes their season 6-9 overall, and 2-6 in conference, a one-win improvement from the 2025 season.
