Box Score Springfield, Ohio- In the battle of the North Coast Athletic Conference Tigers, the DePauw women's lacrosse team came out on top, beating the Wittenberg Tigers 19-4. DePauw completes the regular season 11-3 overall and 3-2 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg drops to 5-11 and 0-6 in conference play.
Striking first with a goal just 25 seconds into the first period by Maggie Little was just the beginning of the DePauw Tigers' scoring frenzy. Across the first half, DePauw gave up only two goals and led Wittenberg 11-2, heading into the third period.
Leading the DePauw Tigers and breaking the program's single-game goal record was Emma Kennedy, who tallied 10 of DePauw's 19 goals. Bridget Driscoll put in five goals, while Graesen Campbell recorded two goals, and Caleigh Claar and Little finished the night with a goal apiece. Marley Heitman led the DePauw Tigers with two assists.
Lydia Hollis recorded five saves in goal, three of which came in the first period. Wittenberg's Gabrielle Weckerly in the first half tallied six saves, while her teammate Sidney Sheridan completed the game with two saves.
The DePauw Tigers picked up 28 ground balls to Wittenberg's 11, caused 14 turnovers, and were 19-23 in clear attempts. DePauw was 8-12 in free position shots and finished the night outshooting Wittenberg 34 to 10.
