Denison Tops DePauw 20-3 in Season Finale

Granville, Ohio - The Tigers fell to the Big Red in their final regular season match up, 20-3. 

DePauw ends their 2026 season campaign with an overall season record of 6-11 and conference record of 2-5.  

The game was originally scheduled to be played Wednesday, April 22nd in Granville but was postponed due to weather conditions. 

Kate Sullivan led the Tigers with three goals, accounting for all three of DePauw's points for a solo hat trick.  Sullivan returned from a brief season hiatus yesterday against Wooster, claiming back to back team leading performances offensively. 

Denison scored first in the game, netting a goal in the first minute of regulation. The Big Red went 3-0 before the Tigers responded with a man up goal delivered by Sullivan after two sequential green cards were delivered to the Big Red. Denison responded with two more before the end of the first, including one free position shot. 

The Big Red lengthened their lead with four goals in the second, heading into halftime up 9-1. 

Denison tallied another before DePauw retaliated with their second of the afternoon at 11:47 in the third. Big Red reaffirmed a dominant lead with six more goals to end the quarter. 

Big Red recorded four more to end the game before Sullivan delivered her third for a hat trick.

Niamh Callahn recorded 14 saves in goal for DePauw, while Julianne Henigan had three and Kaylyn Kirrane had two stops for the Big Red. 

Kai Coffee and Sullivan paced DePauw with three draw controls each, while Kaitlyn Bach had two ground balls and two caused turnovers. 

Mary Martinson paced the Big Red with seven draw controls, while Grace Schlossberg had five ground balls. 

Denison held a 48-10 advantage in shots including 30-8 shots on goal. DePauw totaled 19 turnovers to Denison's nine, with the Big Red leading in ground balls with 24-6. The Big Red led in draw controls, 17-9.
