Greencastle, Ind.: In its final home match, the DePauw men's tennis team fell to No. 31 Kalamazoo 5-4, dropping to 11-8 overall, while the Hornets improved to 8-6.
The Tigers quickly took a 1-0 lead in doubles play when Chase Hutchinson and Hudson Mosher beat Gabe Vidinas and Parker Foster 8-0 at number three. However, Kalamazoo's Ian Yi and Peter Fitzgerald defeated Thomas Partridge and Wyatt Metzger 8-4 at number one to tie the match at one. DePauw regained the lead at number two when Cole Metzger and Ryan McCook beat the Hornet's Casey Johnson and Adnan Alousi 8-4.
At number six, Jake Watson defeated Lukas Hultberg 6-0, 6-2, putting the Tigers up 3-1 over the Hornets. Kalamazoo knotted up the match at three apiece after Kalamazoo's Adnan Alousi beat Ryan McCook 6-2, 6-3 at number five, followed by Casey Johnson defeating Gordian Bruns 6-4, 6-4 at number four.
Wyatt Metzger put the Tigers back in the lead after beating Gabe Vidinas 6-0, 6-3 at number two, but Kalamazoo's Peter Fitzgerald defeated Cole Metzger 6-1, 6-4 at number three, followed by Ian Yi beating Thomas Partridge 6-2, 6-3 at number one to clinch the win for the Hornets.
