Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's tennis team swept the Little Giants of Wabash College 9-0 on senior day, improving to 3-1 in the NCAC West and 11-7 overall, while Wabash dropped to 0-3 in the NCAC West and 6-12 overall.
DePauw took command of the doubles play early, in front of its senior day crowd. Thomas Partridge and Wyatt Metzger defeated Cole Borden and Liam Grennon 8-3 at number one for the Tigers' first win of the evening, followed by Will Sultan and Jake Watson beating Christian Zimmerman and Reed Mathis 8-1 at number three. Rounding out the doubles win at number two was senior duo Billy Louiselle and Gordian Bruns, who defeated the Little Giants' Alvaro Alonso-Sanchez and Jett Brownlee 8- 4.
In singles play, Gordian Bruns extended DePauw's lead to four after beating Christian Zimmerman 6-1, 6-0, at number four. DePauw would clinch its victory over Wabash after Wyatt Metzger defeated Alvaro Alonso-Sanchez 6-0, 6-0, at number two.
At number five, Will Sultan beat Jett Brownlee 6-1, 6-0, followed by Thomas Partridge defeating Cole Borden 6-1, 6-0, at number one. In the final two matches of the evening, Cole Metzger defeated Liam Grennon 6-2, 6-0, at number three, followed by Billy Louiselle beating Reed Mathis 6-2, 6-2, at number six to complete the sweep over Wabash.
The Tigers' last home match is Saturday, April 16, at 10 am against Kalamazoo.
