Box Score Delaware, Ohio- A fourth-quarter shutout by DePauw helped secure its 12-6 victory over Ohio Wesleyan, extending its program-record win streak to seven. The Tigers improved to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in NCAC play, breaking their single-season record for wins in a season, while the Battling Bishops dropped to 10-3.
DePauw got a jump on Ohio Wesleyan early, putting in three goals in the first quarter. However, the Battling Bishops climbed back into the game, putting in two of their own with seven minutes left in the half. The Tigers' answered with another three-goal run at the end of the second quarter to put DePauw up 6-2 at the half.
Ohio Wesleyan would go on a 4-2 goal run in the third to get within two; however, the Tigers put the game away, shutting out the Battling Bishops 4-0 in the fourth quarter.
Leading the Tigers in goals was Emma Kennedy, who finished the afternoon with five goals and three assists. Bria Randolph and Marley Heitman tallied two goals each, while Caleigh Claar, Anna Chinni, and Bridget Driscoll put in one apiece. Driscoll also assisted in two goals.
DePauw collected 13 draw controls to Ohio Wesleyan's eight and caused seven turnovers across the match.
Lydia Hollis completed the afternoon with eight saves, four of which came in the first quarter shutout. The Battling Bishops Abby Markowitz finished with six saves after facing 25 shots.
The Tigers are back on the road next Saturday, April 16, to play Kenyon at 4 pm EDT.
