Cleveland, Ohio- The DePauw men's tennis team pushed its win streak to five after beating John Carroll 8-1 on the road.
At number one, Wyatt Metzger and Thomas Partridge beat the Blue Streak's Gustavo Garcia and Kevin Wacnik 8-2, followed by Hudson Mosher and Chase Hutchinson defeating Nathan Palinkas and Aeneas Hines 8-2 at number three. Completing the doubles sweep was Ryan McCook and Cole Metzger, who beat Logan Langovsky and Mark Beebe 8-5 at number two, putting the Tigers up 3-0.
In singles, the Tigers' Ryan McCook beat Nathan Palinkas 6-0, 6-2 at number six to give the Tigers a commanding lead. Jake Watson at number five followed suit, beating Alvaro Rosabal 6-1, 6-2.
With the match clinched, the remaining courts played out as follows. At number two, Wyatt Metzger beat Logan Langovsky 6-4, 6-1, followed by Gordian Bruns, defeating John Carroll's Grant Sarnowski 6-2, 6-3 at number four. Thomas Partridge edged out Gustavo Garcia, beating Garcia 7-5, 6-4 at number one. The Blue Streaks' lone win came when Mark Beebe defeated Cole Metzger 2-6, 7-6 (3), 10-5 at number three.
The Tigers' next match is set for 3 pm on Tuesday, March 22 at Marian (Ind.).
