Oberlin, Ohio- The DePauw men's tennis team beat the Oberlin College Yeomen 6-3 on the road, improving to 6-5 overall.
In doubles at number one, the combination of Wyatt Metzger and Thomas Partridge beat Oberlin's James Dill and Grant North 8-2. At number three, the Yeomen would answer with its own victory with Rohan Gold and Sean Billerbeck, who defeated Chase Hutchinson and Hudson Mosher 8-4. The Tigers would regain the lead going up 2-1 heading into singles play after Cole Metzger and Ryan McCook beat Sebastien Naginski and Ben Echikson 8-5 at number two.
Oberlin would knot the match up at two after Rohan Gold beat Cole Metzger 6-2, 6-2 at number three. The Tigers would pull away when Wyatt Metzger beat James Dill 6-0, 6-3 at number two, followed by Gordian Bruns 7-6, 6-3 victory over Sam Topper at number four. Up 4-2, DePauw's Thomas Partridge would clinch the win for the Tigers after defeating Sean Billerbeck 5-7, 7-6, 6-2 at number one.
In the remaining two matches at number six, Will Sultan beat Grant North 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, while Oberlin's Sebastien Naginski defeated Jake Watson 4-6, 6-4, 13-11.
The Tigers remain in Ohio tomorrow to play John Carroll at 10 am EDT.
