Greencastle, Ind.: In its second meet in two days, the DePauw women's swimming and diving team fell to the Bears of WashU 202-85 at home in Erdmann Natatorium.
The Tigers finished the dual with four first-place finishes and 14 top-three finishes.
In the opening 200-yard medley relay, Maggie Peats, Sammie Waples, Maggie Perry, and Claire Sweetwood finished third with a time of 1:51.34. Perry would record a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (24.84) and a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.06). Sweetwood finished just behind Perry in the 50-yard freestyle to take second place with a time of 25.10.
Waples tallied two third-place finishes of her own, the first in the 500-yard free (1:09.73) and then again in the 100-yard free (55.72).
The remaining top-three finishes came from Tarah Lang, who swam the 1000-yard free in 10:58.74 for second. Tara Holder would take home two first-place finishes after swimming the 200-yard free in 1:58.02 and again in the 500-yard free (5:19.03).
Elise Umbach finished third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:16.09, and in the 100-yard IM, Mei-Li Minnich (1:05.26), Madeleine Collier (1:06.11), and Mia Hagenauer (1:06.20) finished in the top three spots, respectively.
In the final relay of the meet the team of Waples, Perry, Lang, and Sweetwood took first-place after swimming the 200-yard free relay in 1:39.07
On Saturday, January 29, the Tigers travel to Chicago to face the University of Chicago.
