Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - Will Roberts scored twice in the final minute to pull DePauw to within one goal of visiting Wittenberg, but the visiting Tigers held on for a 10-9 North Coast Athletic Conference West Division win. DePauw dropped to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg improved to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the division.
Quinn Cashion beat the first quarter horn to cut Wittenberg's lead to 2-1 and Roberts delivered the only goal of the second quarter as the teams went to the halftime intermission tied, 2-2.
Wittenberg scored four times in the first 6:12 of the third to grab a 6-2 lead before Dan McCauley scored twice to make it 6-4. Wittenberg pushed the lead to 8-4, but Roberts trimmed it to 8-5 with 17 seconds remaining in the quarter.
Tyler McCoy and Chris Schaefer each scored for DePauw in the fourth to close the gap to 8-7, but Wittenberg's Lucas Klever and Cam Kennedy scored within 1:08 of one another for what was the eventual difference in the game.
Roberts led DePauw with four goals and McCauley added a pair, while Noah Mackin paced Wittenberg with four goals. Andrew Ellis added two scores and three assists.
Patrick Lawton recorded 12 saves for the Tigers with Max Cavellier notching 11 for Wittenberg.
Wittenberg held a 43-37 edge in shots and 38-28 in ground balls. Jack Kneisley led DePauw with eight ground balls, while Nick Medley and Ben Rodell had five each for Wittenberg.
