Box Score Fort Wayne, Ind. - DePauw got out to an early lead against NAIA's second-ranked Indiana Tech, but the Warriors outscored the Tigers, 4-0, in the third period and held on for an 11-9 win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 3-4, while Indiana Tech moved to 13-1.
Will Roberts scored just 42 seconds into the contest before Jack Flynn and Roberts added scores later in the opening quarter to give DePauw a 3-0 lead. Roberts scored his third goal early in the second to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead. Indiana Tech knotted the score at 3-3 with three straight before Tyler McCoy scored with 1:05 left in the half to take a 5-4 lead into the intermission.
The Tigers committed 10 turnovers in the third period and recorded just two shots as the Warriors gained their first lead at 6-5 and then took an 8-5 advantage into the final period.
The hosts expanded the lead to 11-7 before DePauw trimmed the gap to two goals in the closing minutes on scores from Connor Gibson and Roberts.
Roberts led the Tigers with four goals and shared the team's assist lead with McCoy as each had two. Emmett Coleman had three goals for the Warriors.
Patrick Lawton recorded 17 saves in goal for DePauw with Evan Schuster totaled 10 for Indiana Tech.
Dan McCauley had nine of DePauw's 49 ground balls, while Andrew Neller totaled 10 of the Warriors' 46.
The Tigers won 12 of the 23 faceoffs, but turned the ball over 30 times to Indiana Tech's 21.
DePauw returns to North Coast Athletic Conference West Division play on Wednesday, April 14, when it hosts Wittenberg in a 7 p.m. contest.
