Box Score Delaware, Ohio- The DePauw University women's lacrosse team roll to its fourth victory after defeating the Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops 19-5 on the road.
In the first half of the matchup, the Tigers allowed just two goals to its 14, outshooting the Battling Bishops 20-11. DePauw also dominated in draw controls, gathering 12 of the 16 total draw controls in the half.
Up 14-2 entering the second half, the Tigers wasted no time extending its lead thanks to Emma Kennedy's first of two goals in the first two minutes of the second half.
Though DePauw scored four more goals during the second half, Ohio Wesleyan played a much more contested second half. The Battling Bishops managed to slow down the Tigers' offense allowing just nine shots while also drawing ten fouls throughout the second half.
Unfortunately for Ohio Wesleyan, the combination of early goals by DePauw and effective defensive stops hindered any chance of a comeback.
Leading the charge in both goals and assists against the Battling Bishops was Grace Clarke, with five goals and three assists. Bria Randolph would record four goals, while both Riley deVarennes and Graesen Campbell put in three goals apiece. Rounding out the goal total was Kennedy with two, and Tori Salanty and Emily Napier, each with a goal.
The Tigers' next game is on the road against Wooster on Saturday, March 3, at 4 pm.
