Box Score Memphis, Tenn.- In the season-opening game at Rhodes, the Tigers outscored the Lynx 6-4 over the final 30 minutes, but it wasn't enough to overcome a first-half deficit in the 16-7 loss.
The Lynx jumped to an early lead in the first half's opening minutes, holding the Tigers to just nine shots on goal.
Leading Rhodes on offense was Payton Bennet, finishing the game with six goals. Grace Clarke led the Tigers with three goals and Emma Kennedy added two of her own.
Despite being down double digits in the second half, DePauw recorded 15 shots on goal, while holding the Lynx to just four.
The Tigers would finish the second half with momentum, gathering 15 ground balls to Rhodes six and forcing 17 turnovers by the Lynx.
DePauw faces Rhodes College again on Sunday, February 28, at 12 pm CST.
