Lexington, Ky, - DePauw held a 7-5 lead late in the third, but host Transylvania scored the game's final four goals for a 9-7 victory over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 0-4, while the Pioneers improved to 2-2.

Transylvania scored just 2:06 into the contest before Will Roberts evened the score just 23 seconds later and Josh McClorey gave DePauw its first lead with 11:26 left in the opening quarter. The Pioneers scored twice in a 50-second span midway through the quarter for a 3-2 lead which stood until the quarter break.

Roberts evened the count with 8:27 remaining in the half before Transylvania's Ethan Patton gave his team a 4-3 advantage with 6:47 left in the half. 

DePauw regained the lead early in the third on scores from Jack Richey and Ben Davis in a 28-second span. After Transylvania tied the contest with 8:29 left, the Tigers took a two-goal lead on scores from Patrick Durnien and McClorey with the latter coming with 2:49 left in the third.

Transylvania scored just 34 seconds later and tied the contest 1:44 into the fourth on T.J. Toivonen's goal. The game remained tied until Trenton Sneed delivered the game-winner with 1:45 left.

McClorey and Roberts each scored two for the Tigers with Richey assisting on a pair. Patton paced the Pioneers with three goals. 

Quinn Cashion paced DePauw with five of its 26 ground balls, while Peyton Bray led Transylvania with nine of its 33.

Transylvania won 12 of the 18 faceoffs and held a 49-25 edge in shots with DePauw committing 22 turnovers to the Pioneers' 18.

DePauw opens North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 7, at Denison in a 2 p.m. contest.
