DePauw Finishes Third at NCAC Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. - Following a 5-3 win over 40th-ranked Oberlin, DePauw finished third at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. The Tigers finished the season at 11-10, while the Yeomen were 9-13.

The Tigers took a 2-1 lead after doubles as the first duo of Greg Frauenheim and Bryce McClanahan were 8-4 winners over James Dill and Elliot Nuss, while the second team of Wyatt Metzger and Billy Louiselle topped Stephen Gruppuso and Zachary Vaughn by an 8-3 score.

DePuw then won three singles matches to clinch the team win with Metzger picking up a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Camron Cohen at the second spot with McClanahan defeating Vaughn at third singles by a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 score. At fifth singles, Louiselle defeated Nuss 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.

 

In Saturday's semifinal match, DePauw fell to Denison by a 5-1 count with the lone points coming at the number-two spot where Metzger won by retirement over Vlad Rotnov after leading 4-1 in the first set.
