Sewanee, Tenn. - DePauw took a 7-6 lead into the halftime at Sewanee, but the hosts outscored the Tigers 11-1 over the final 30 minutes for a 17-8 win. DePauw dropped to 2-6, while Sewanee improved to 9-6.

DePauw trailed 5-3 in the opening half, but scored two quick goals to even the count at 5-5 midway through the half. Sewanee regained the lead before Kate Flynn and Emma Kennedy scored to give the Tigers a 7-6 lead at the break.

It took Sewanee just 1:18 into the second half to get on the board and the hosts went on to score 11 straight to secure the win.

Grace Clarke and Emily Howard each scored two for DePauw, while Preston Cooper paced Sewanee with four. Catherine Crigler and Sarah Strand added three apiece with Grace Zechman assisting on nine.

Kathryn Hopkins recorded eight saves in goal for DePauw, while Sewanee's Caroline Roncalli had eight saves and Brianna Young added two.

Sewanee outshot DePauw, 33-21, and led in ground balls, 32-28. DePauw held a 15-12 edge in draw controls and committed 35 turnovers to Sewanee's 34.

Kennedy led DePauw with six draw controls and five caused turnovers, while Sarah Congress had five ground balls.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Hiram in an 11:30 a.m. North Coast Athletic Conference game.
