Tigers Win Sixth Straight Match

Hilton Head Island, S.C. - DePauw opened play on Hilton Head Island by extending its win streak to six with a 7-2 win over St. Thomas (Minn.). The Tigers improved to 6-5, while the Tommies dropped to 6-3.

The Tigers won two of the three doubles matches with the number-one tandem of Greg Frauenheim and Bryce McClanahan topping Sterling Sibley and Tristan Fjelstad by an 8-3 score and the second doubles team of Wyatt Metzger and Billy Louiselle defeating Nick Vossen and Erich Nuss, 8-2.

DePauw then clinched the win by taking the top five singles flights. At the top spot, Frauenheim was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Sibley while Metzger defeated Vossen by a 6-1, 6-3 score at the second spot. 

McClanahan won over Fjelstad at third singles by a 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5) score with Alex Bertolini winning over (DPUM) def. Jordan Schenck by a 6-4, 6-3 count at the fourth spot and Alex Pintilie picking up a 7-5, 6-1 win over Eshan Varma at fifth singles.

 

The Tigers face 39th-ranked Carleton tomorrow at 10 a.m.
