Memphis, Tenn. - DePauw and Rhodes played to an 8-8 tie in the first half, but the host Lynx outscored the Tigers, 5-1, in the third on the way to a 15-11 win in the season opener for both schools.

The Tigers trailed 3-1 in the opening period, but scored four times in the final 3:03 to take a 5-4 lead at the quarter break. DePauw's biggest lead came at 7-5 before Rhodes scored three straight. Patrick Durnien's goal with 51 seconds left in the half evened the count at 8-8.

Rhodes scored three times in the first five minutes of the second half and DePauw got no closer than three the rest of the way.

Will Roberts and William Dorger each scored two for the Tigers and Ben Davis added a pair of assists. Tyler Milwit and Karl Van Blargan each scored four in the win for Rhodes with Christian Cisneros assisting on three.

Jack Gruchacz recorded seven saves for the Tigers and Cameron Link had 13 for the Lynx.

Quinn Cashion led DePauw with five ground balls and three caused turnovers. J.J. Hoots paced Rhodes with 11 ground balls.

Rhodes held a 42-37 edge in shots as well as in ground balls, 44-41. The Lynx committed 32 turnovers to DePauw's 21 and the hosts won 19 of the 28 faceoffs.

DePauw hosts Carthage on Saturday, February 23, at 2 p.m.
