Tigers Snap Streak with Win at Wabash

Crawfordsville, Ind. - DePauw scored the game's first six goals and topped Wabash, 14-4, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game shortened to three periods due to weather. With the win, the Tigers snapped a six-game losing streak and improved to 4-8 overall and 1-2 in the NCAC. The Little Giants dropped to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Nate Greenberg scored the Tigers' first two goals, both on assists from Ben Sherman, before Steen Jorgensen gave the Tigers a 3-0 first-quarter lead. DePauw scored three straight to start the second to grab a 6-0 lead. Wabash trimmed the deficit to 7-3 before the Tigers closed the first half with four goals in the final 1:52 for an 11-3 halftime lead.

The Tigers outscored Wabash, 3-1, in the third before the game was eventually called due to weather.

Greenberg paced the Tigers with five goals, while Jorgensen added four and Sherman two along with a team-best three assists. Steven Stark led the Little Giants with two goals.

DePauw outshot Wabash, 36-30 including 22-16 on goal with Charlie Robson recording 11 saves the Tigers and Max Atkins 22 for the Little Giants.

The Tigers won 15 of the 21 faceoffs with Joe Garvey going 12-for-15. Garvey led DePauw with seven ground balls as the Tigers held a 37-32 edge. Chase Cochran paced Wabash with four ground balls.

DePauw committed 23 turnovers to Wabash's 17.

The Tigers travel to Wooster on Saturday, April 7, for a 1 p.m. NCAC contest.
