Visiting Oberlin is Too Much for Tigers

Greencastle, Ind. - Visiting Oberlin scored the game's first seven goals including three in the opening three minutes and remainined unbeaten in North Coast Athletic Conference play with a 20-3 win over DePauw. The Tigers dropped to 2-10 overall and 1-3 in the NCAC, while the Yeowomen improved to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

Rachel Allen, Caleigh Ranjo and Sophie Hensley each scored once for the Tigers in the loss. Natalie Rauchle and Sydney Garvis each scored four for Oberlin with Hayley Drapkin, Leah Crowther and Tess Siciliano adding three apiece.

DePauw's Kathryn Hopkins stopped eight Oberlin shots, while the Yeowomen's Siena Marcelle recorded three saves.

Oberlin outshot DePauw 38-7 and had 21 draw controls to the Tigers' four. Rauchle led the way with nine draw controls, while DePauw's Rachel Hufnagel had two.

The Yeowomen also held a 36-9 edge in ground balls as Maeve Sheehan and Hensley each had two for DePauw, while Emily Berner and Rauchle had six apiece for Oberlin. DePauw finished with 23 turnovers to Oberlin's 15 and Sheehan led the Tigers with two caused turnovers with Berner topping Oberlin with three.

DePauw returns to action on Tuesday, April 17, with a 7 p.m. game at Wittenberg.
