Tigers Move to 1-1 in NCAC Following Win at Hiram

Hiram, Ohio - Paced by Sarah Ramsey's five-goal performance, DePauw picked up a 15-12 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Hiram. The Tigers moved to 2-8 overall and 1-1 in the NCAC, while Hiram dropped to 5-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

The Terriers scored just 21 seconds into the contest, but didn't score again until 8:27 remained in the opening half as the Tigers rattled off three straight. Ellie Strauch's goal with two seconds left in the half gave DePauw a 6-4 lead.

Hiram closed the margin to one with 24:55 left in the second, but the Tigers put together a 4-0 run for a 10-5 lead. The Terriers got no closer than three goals the rest of the way.

In addition to Ramsey's five goals, Caleigh Ranjo and Erica Rapelje each added two. Sierah Ray paced Hiram with five goals and Alyse Gillentine added four.

DePauw outshot the Terriers, 40-26, including 29-22 on goal. The Tigers held a 15-14 edge in draw controls as Ramsey, Ranjo and Tori Salanty had three apiece for DePauw and Ray totaled nine for Hiram.

The Tigers also held a 13-11 advantage in ground balls with Rapelje, Maeve Sheehan and Kate Flynn finishing with two apiece. Four different Terriers had two each.

DePauw was perfect on 19 clears and committed 16 turnovers to Hiram's 17.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday, April 4, with a 7 p.m. NCAC contest at Ohio Wesleyan.
