Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- Alex Bertolini claimed a singles and doubles win as DePauw fell to Wisconsin-Whitewater 6-3 on Wednesday.
Bertolini won in the No. 5 singles flight 7-5, 7-5 and teamed with Matthew Quammen for an 8-4 win at the No. 2 doubles flight. DePauw also took a win at No. 1 doubles, 8-6, behind the team of Greg Frauenheim and Bryce McClanahan.
Sean Carroll and Alex Pintilie had a tough No. 3 flight, falling 9-8 (7-3). Pintilie also had a close match at the No. 3 singles flight falling 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).
Quammen suffered a similar fate at the No. 4 spot 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). At No. 6, Michael Kolbus fell in three sets 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-1).
Frauenheim at No. 1 and McClanahan at No. 2 fell in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-4, respectively.
DePauw is now 3-11 overall, while Wisconsin-Whitewater is 13-5. The Tigers next travel to Emory on April 1.
