Tigers Sweep Singles Play in Win over Cal Lutheran

Thousand Oaks, Calif. -- The DePauw men's tennis team swept singles play in a 7-2 win over Cal Lutheran on Thursday.

DePauw took four of their six singles wins in straight sets.

Dan Rodefeld defeated Dara Kashani at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-4. Patrick Farrell then won a first set tiebreaker at No. 2 singles to eventually win 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.

At No. 3 singles Greg Frauenheim needed three sets but came out on top 2-6, 7-6 (8-6), 10-5. Petar Barcot won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

Nate Wallace had another three-set win at the No. 5 spot 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. Finally, at No. 6 Harold Martin won 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles play, Wallace and Martin took the lone doubles win at the No. 3 flight 8-6. The one doubles team of Farrell and John Daseke lost 8-5, and the two doubles team of Rodefeld and Matt Santen lost 8-3.

DePauw improves to 5-7, while Cal Luthern drops to 4-13. The win wraps up DePauw's spring break trip where they finished 1-2. They will return to action April 8 when they face Gustavus Adolphus in West Bend, Wisc.
