Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - Twelfth-ranked Denison scored the game's first seven goals and handed DePauw a 20-4 North Coast Athletic Conference defeat at Reavis Stadium. The Big Red moved to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the NCAC, while the Tigers dropped to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The teams were scoreless over the first 6:58 before Denison scored the first of five first-quarter goals. They tacked on nine more in the second for a comfortable 14-1 halftime advantage.
William Dorger, Austin MacDonald, Jeremy Konzen and Lewis Andrews each scored one goal for the Tigers with Dorger, MacDonald and Donny Bleifuss collecting one assist each.
Spencer Butler paced Denison with five goals, while Will Donohue added four. Jake Waxter led the way with three assists.
Charlie Robson stopped four Denison first-half shots, while Connor Patterson saved 13 in the second half. Stephen Paras had all six of the Big Red's saves.
Denison outshot the Tigers, 53-16, held a 35-31 edge in ground balls and won 18 of the 28 faceoffs. DePauw committed 25 turnovers to Denison's 10.
Bleifuss had a DePauw team-high six ground balls with Sean Coyne and Steen Jorgensen each causing two turnovers.
Henry DeCamp led Denison with seven ground balls and 12 faceoff wins, while Ben Duhoski and Tommy Mcmaster each caused three turnovers.
DePauw travels to Concordia Chicago on Wednesday, March 29, for a 1 p.m. CDT game.
