Kenosha, Wis. - DePauw scored three times in a 3:04 stretch late in its game at Carthage, but the Tigers came up short in a 12-10 loss to the Lady Reds. DePauw dropped to 2-1, while Carthage improved to 4-1.

The teams were tied, 4-4, late in the first half, but Rachel Mussell put the hosts ahead with just 1:28 left in the half.

The Lady Reds carried that momentum into the second half with four goals in the opening 2:23 to take a 9-4 lead. Carthage's lead was as much as six at 11-5. Trailing 12-7, DePauw mounted a comeback as Emma Flynn scored with 5:03 remaining before Emilye Denny added a goal at the 3:11 mark and Madi Lozanowski delivered just 12 seconds after that.

Carthage won the ensuing draw and the Tigers managed just one shot attempt in the closing minutes.

Flynn led the Tigers with four goals, while Nicole Gibson chipped in two along with two assists. Sydney Blake collected three draw controls for the Tigers and Stefanie Buffa had two ground balls.

Mussell paced Carthage with five goals, while Maddie Griffin added three along with four assists. Mackenzie Day had a team-high four ground balls with Mussell and Bryanna Barrera each earning three draw controls.

Lis Hawkins had five saves in goal for DePauw with Carthage's Maggie Allen totaling 10.

Each team finished with 23 shots and DePauw held a 13-10 advantage in draw controls, but Carthage held a 19-14 edge in ground balls. 

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, March 25, when it opens North Coast Athletic Conference play with a Noon game against Wittenberg.
