Box Score Kalamazoo, Mich. - DePauw scored three goals in each of the first three periods and improved to 1-1 with an 11-1 win at snowy Kalamazoo. The Hornets dropped to 0-1.
Ben Sherman led the Tigers with three goals, while Adam Bridges and Steen Jorgensen each added a pair. Jorgensen also assisted on two scores. Donny Bleifuss scooped up six of the Tigers' 41 ground balls.
Clapton Marquis scored Kalmazoo's lone goal early in the fourth after the Tigers grabbed a 10-0 lead. Brett Fitzgerald and Zach Morales each had six of the Hornets' 41 ground balls.
Charlie Robson picked up his first collegiate win in goal after stopping eight shots, while Nate Silverman totaled 12 saves for the Hornets.
DePauw held a 34-21 shots advantage, while Kalamazoo won nine of the 16 faceoffs.
The victory was also the first collegiate head coaching win for Tigers' mentor Dan Ambrose.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, March 4, when they host Calvin at 1 p.m.
