Tigers Top Engineers in Final Tuneup Before NCAC Championship

Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw, ranked 35th in Division III, improved to 10-9 after topping Rose-Hulman by an 8-1 score in the final match before the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship begins on April 29. The Engineers dropped to 16-8.

DePauw swept doubles competition with the number-one duo of Alec Kaczkowski and Dan Rodefeld defeating Georges Adam and Brandon Benedict by an 8-4 score, the second team of Patrick Farrell and John Daseke topping Cam Metzger and Andre Adam, 8-3, and the number three tandem of Harold Martin and Nate Wallace winning by a 9-7 score over Matt Conrad and Joe Kendall.

The Tigers then wrapped up the match with wins in five of the six singles matches. Rodefeld defeated Adam 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-3) at the number-one spot with Kaczkowski beating Metzger 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 at third singles.

Matt Santen was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Adam at fourth singles with Greg Frauenheim taking a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Conrad at the fifth spot and Martin winning over Andrew Schiffman 6-2, 6-4 at the sixth position.

Rose-Hulman's lone win came at second singles where Benedict beat Farrell by a 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) score.
