Box Score Delaware, Ohio – The DePauw men's lacrosse team lost a North Coast Athletic Conference contest on Tuesday, falling to Ohio Wesleyan 22-5.
With one game left on the schedule, the men fall to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in the NCAC. The 13th-ranked Battling Bishops move to 11-3 overall and 6-1 in the conference.
Ohio Wesleyan came out and scored the first four goals before Ben Sherman scored unassisted with 10:32 left in the first period. Buck Dorger scored with 8:49 left in the second period, but Ohio Wesleyan kept the shots coming and led at halftime 15-2.
Sherman scored again to open the second half and rounding out the scoring for DePauw was Andrew Wright and Austin MacDonald. Wright's goal came as DePauw was a man down.
Connor Patterson made 19 saves in net. Ohio Wesleyan outshot the Tigers 62-24 and secured 23-of-30 face offs. Ohio Wesleyan was also credited with 34 groundballs to DePauw's 17 and committed fewer turnovers than DePauw at 23-18.
The men close the regular season at home at 2 p.m. Saturday when they take on Oberlin.
