Mount Vernon, Iowa - Matthew Dauw scored three goals and assisted on two more as DePauw moved to 2-1 with a 12-9 win at Cornell College. The Rams dropped to 0-1 with the loss.

The Tigers trailed early, 3-1, but scored three goals in the final three minutes of the first period and added two more in the opening five minutes of the second to grabbed a 6-3 advantage.

DePauw didn't relinquish that lead, but the Rams did close to within one score at 9-8 after Galbraith Williams scored with 1:38 left in the third.

The Tigers' Ben Sherman countered with just 45 seconds left in the period to push the margin to 10-8. Dauw made it 11-8 early in the fourth before Cornell matched that on Conor Hollowell's score with 10:48 remaining. Neither team scored until DePauw's Steen Jorgensen found the back of the net with just 56 seconds left.

In addition to Dauw's three-goal, two-assist performance, Buck Dorger totaled three goals, while Sherman and Jorgensen each scored a pair. Hollowell and Carlos Siguenza scored three apiece for Cornell.

Joe Musto notched the win in goal for the Tigers with 10 saves, while Evan Kedjidjian had 16 stops for the Rams.

The Tigers won 15 of the 24 faceoffs as Grant Skipper was 13-of-18 in the middle. Dauw and Austin MacDonald each had five of DePauw's 47 ground balls, while Williams finished with six of Cornell's 38. DePauw totaled 27 turnovers to the Rams' 30.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, March 12, with a 1 p.m. game at Calvin.
