Hilton Head Island, S.C. - In a battle of ranked teams, #16 Wisconsin-Whitewater defeated #34 DePauw, 5-4. The Tigers dropped to 6-5, while the Warhawks improved to 14-4.
DePauw gained a 2-1 advantage after doubles as the number one tandem of Patrick Farrell and John Daseke topped Jake Humphreys and Michael Treis 8-6, while the third duo of Nate Wallace and Harold Martin were 9-7 winners over Grant Thompson and Michael Schnarr.
Three of the six singles matches went three sets with DePauw winning two of those. Dan Rodefeld was a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) winner over Humphreys at first singles, while Farrell took a 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (11-9) victory over Treis at second singles. Whitewater's Grant Thompson took a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4) win over Greg Frauenheim in the other three-set match.
DePauw returns to action on Friday, March 25, when it travels to Georgia Gwinnett for a 5:30 p.m. match.
