Box Score Redlands, Calif. – The DePauw women's lacrosse team lost to Redlands 18-8 on Monday in what was their first of two games in California this week.
The Tigers, who have now lost five straight and sit at 1-5 on the season, fell behind early 4-0 just seven minutes into the game. However, Emilye Denny gave the Tigers their first score soon after as Abby Snively recorded an assist on the play.
With 15:45 left in the first half DePauw cut the lead further when Emma Flynn scored her first of three goals in the game. The first came off a free position shot. After Redlands responded, Elizabeth McCracken scored on her own free position shot.
However, that started a 5-0 run for the Redlands before Snively and McCracken scored goals to end the half as DePauw trailed 10-5.
Taylor Summers began the half with a goal off an assist from McCracken, but Redlands was still too much for the Tigers. Flynn scored her final two goals in the half as Redlands scored eight additional goals to take the win.
Liz Hawkins made 17 saves in net. Redlands won the ground ball battle 28-17 and outshot the Tigers 40-14. They also took 15 draws to DePauw's 12.
The Tigers return to action Tuesday when they face Chapman.
