Hilton Head Island, S.C. - DePauw opened its spring break trip and snapped a three-match losing streak with a 7-2 win over Carleton. The Tigers moved to 5-4, while the Knights dropped to 9-3.
DePauw picked up wins at first and second doubles as Patrick Farrell and John Daseke topped Christian Nagy and Jordan O'Kelly 8-6, while Dan Rodefeld and Matthew Quammen were 8-1 winners over Erik Johnson and Andrew Qi.
In singles play, Rodefeld was a straight-sets winner over Kevin Mei at number one 6-3, 6-1, while Farrell rallied for a 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) win over O'Kelly at second singles.
Matt Santen won by retirement at third singles after leading Qi, 5-0. Daseke picked up a 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 1-0 (10-6) win at fifth singles over Patton McLellan, while Nate Wallace topped Aaron Goodman 6-1, 6-3 at sixth singles.
The Tigers return to the Hilton Head courts on Monday, March 21, when they face Oberlin at 9 a.m.
