Gambier, Ohio - For the third straight season, DePauw finished second at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship as it dropped a 6-1 decision to Kenyon.
The 33rd-ranked Tigers dropped to 12-11, while the ninth-ranked Lords improved to 19-5. Kenyon captured its ninth straight NCAC title.
Kenyon took a 3-0 lead after doubles as the Lords' number-three tandem of Peter Hazlett and Weston Noall topped DePauw's Patrick Farrell and Harold Martin by an 8-6 score, while the second duo of Colin Haas and Wade Heerboth topped Chris Bertolini and Dan Rodefeld, 8-4, and the first doubles team of Sam Geier and Tim Rosensteel beat Eric Vannatta and Alec Kaczkowski, 8-5.
DePauw's Farrell put the Tigers on the board with a 6-4, 6-2 fourth singles win over Rosensteel. Geier made it 4-1 with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles over Kaczkowski. Robert Turlington wrapped up the team win with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Rodefeld at third singles. Kenyon's Heerboth then beat Bertolini at first singles 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
