Box Score Meadville, Pa. - After scoring just once in the first 24 minutes, DePauw scored seven over the next 12 minutes on the way to a 13-4 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Allegheny.
The Tigers finished the season at 7-9 overall and 3-5 in NCAC play, while the Gators completed the campaign at 6-10 overall and 3-5 in conference.
Allegheny held a 2-1 lead before Taylor Summers knotted the score at the 5:16 mark and then gave the Tigers the lead for good with 2:41 left in the half. Marisa Ellison scored with 38 seconds left in the half before Nicole Gibson made it 5-2 with just two ticks left in the first half.
Emilye Denny, Carey Kunz and Abigail Snively scored in the opening 6:16 of the second half to push the DePauw lead to 8-2.
The Gators closed the gap to 9-4, but Emma Flynn and Gibson each scored before Denny added a pair of goals in the final three minutes.
Denny led the Tigers with three goals, while Gibson, Flynn, Snively and Summers each had two. Ellison and Summers each had two assists. Four different Gators scored one goal each.
Liz Hawkins stopped 16 shots in goal for the Tigers, while Kaelin Clogan had five saves for Allegheny.
Allegheny outshot the Tigers 31-24, held a 28-23 edge in ground balls as well as a 10-8 margin in draw controls.
The Tigers' seven wins topped the school record of four set in the 2013 inaugural season.
