Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored just 13 seconds into the game, but that would be the only lead the Tigers held as they dropped a 17-10 North Coast Athletic Conference decision to visiting Kenyon at Reavis Stadium.
Emilye Denny put the Tigers ahead at 29:47 of the first half on an assist from Emma Flynn, but the Ladies scored four of the next five to take a 4-2 lead with 20:14 remaining in the half.
The teams were even at 4-4 after Abigail Snively's score on Elizabeth McCracken's assist with 15:02 left in the half before Kenyon closed the half on a 4-1 run to take an 8-5 lead into the intermission.
Kenyon stretched the lead to 11-6 in the first eight minutes of the second half before the Tigers countered with three straight from Taylor Summers, Marisa Ellison and Nicole Gibson. The teams then exchanged scores, but Kenyon outscored the Tigers 5-0 over the final 10 minutes.
Denny and Gibson each scored twice for the Tigers, while McCracken had two assists. Kat Englert led the Ladies with five goals and assisted on two others. Jane Symmes had three goals and Caroline Shipman also added two assists.
DePauw's Liz Hawkins totaled eight saves, while Meredith Bentsen had five for Kenyon.
Kenyon held a 33-19 edge in shots as well as 21-16 in ground balls. The Ladies also held a narrow, 16-13, edge in draw controls. The Tigers committed 22 turnovers to Kenyon's 15.
DePauw travels to Denison on Wednesday, April 22, for a 5 p.m. game against the Big Red.
