Crawfordsville, Ind. - The Tigers improved to 10-9 and, for the fourth straight season, finished North Coast Athletic Conference West Division play with a perfect record at 4-0 following a 6-3 win at Wabash. The Little Giants dropped to 20-5 overall and 2-1 in NCAC West play.
DePauw took a 2-1 lead after doubles as the number two tandem of Chris Bertolini and Dan Rodefeld defeated Michael Makio and Mark Troiano, 8-5, and the third doubles team of Patrick Farrell and Harold Martin topped Graham McMullen and Mazin Hakim by an 8-4 score. Wabash's point came at the number one spot where Daniel Delgado and William Reifeis were 8-6 victors over Eric Vannatta and Alec Kaczkowski.
In singles play, the Tigers won at the third through sixth flights as Rodefeld beat Troiano 6-2, 6-2; Farrell topped Reifeis 6-2, 6-4; Matt Santen defeated McMullen 6-3, 6-1; and Martin was a 6-3, 6-4 winner over Nicholas Pollock.
Wabash's singles wins both came in three sets as Delgado beat Bertolini 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7) at number one and Makio topped Kaczkowski 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (10-8).
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 18, with a 7 p.m. CDT match against #16 Gustavus Adolphus at the Pleasant Valley Racquet Club in Jackson, Wis., just outside of Milwaukee.
