Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - Wittenberg scored five times in the opening three minutes and extended its North Coast Athletic Conference regular season win streakl to 27 with a 16-9 win over DePauw at Reavis Stadium.
DePauw dropped to 5-7 overall and 1-3 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg moved to 8-3 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
Logan Wayre scored Wittenberg's first two in the opening 1:03 before Becca Joseph scored three straight to make it 5-0 with 27 minutes left in the half.
Carey Kunz scored on Megan Morrison's assist 54 seconds later to trim the lead to 5-1, but Joseph and Megan Loofbourrow pushed the lead to 7-1. Wittenberg held an 11-5 lead at the break.
The guests scored four straight to extend the lead to 15-5 before Carey Kunz scored at the 9:50 mark and Marisa Ellison added back-to-back scores to cut the lead to 15-8.
Kunz led DePauw with four goals, while Ellison added a pair. Joseph scored seven for Wittenberg and Warye followed with six, while Loofbourrow finished with three. Joseph also assisted on a pair.
Liz Hawkins finishes with 17 saves for DePauw, while Katie Reuter had six for Wittenberg and Faith Mahnke totaled three.
Wittenberg held a 39-26 edge in shots and a 27-20 margin in ground balls. The visiting Tigers also held a commanding 20-7 lead in draw controls.
DePauw returns to action on Tuesday, April 14, when it hosts Ohio Wesleyan at 6 p.m.
