Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw never trailed against visiting Illinois Wesleyan as the Tigers coasted to a 24-8 victory over the Titans. The Tigers improved to 5-4 as they broke the single-season wins record. Illinois Wesleyan dropped to 6-5 with the loss.
The Tigers held just an 8-5 advantage with under 10 minutes left in the first half, but they scored 11 straight including eight in the first half to push the lead to 20-5.
Emma Flynn led the Tigers with six goals, while Carey Kunz had four. Nicole Gibson, Taylor Summers, Emily Scinta and Emilye Denny each scored a pair in the win. Gibson and Abigail Snively had three assists apiece.
Lauren Pavich led the Titans with three goals, while Abby Kushina scored two.
Liz Hawkins totaled six saves in goal for the Tigers, while Claire Quist had 12 for the Titans.
DePauw outshot Illinois Wesleyan 39-17 and held a 30-22 ground balls advantage. The Tigers also held a 22-12 edge in draw controls. DePauw converted 4-of-7 free-position shots with the Titans succeeding on 1-of-5.
The Tigers return to North Coast Athletic Conference action on Saturday, April 4, when they travel to Wooster.
