Box Score Albion, Mich.- Albion jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first half, heading to a 17-3 victory over the DePauw men's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon in Albion, Mich.
The Tigers dropped to 1-3 on the year, while the Britons improved to 3-0 overall.
Albion netted two goals in the first four minutes to seize early control of the contest. The Britons would score the next 11 goals before DePauw finally broke through in the third period.
With 5:44 left in the third, Kyle Roberts took a pass from Andrew Wright and fired home the Tigers' first goal. Following an Albion goal, Ben Sherman scored on an unassisted strike with 2:41 on the clock. Eric Speer would add an unassisted goal with 1:12 in the fourth to wrap up the game scoring.
DePauw was outshot 53-22 and won just 7-of-23 faceoffs. The Tigers were successful on 16-of-23 clears, but committed 25 turnovers. Grant Skipper had three ground balls, while Zach Taylor and Joe Musto combined for 16 saves in a losing effort.
Albion was led by Zach Hubbell and Tim Urso with four goals each, while Alexander Dziewit added four assists and Kyle Formanczyk made seven saves in the win. The Britons committed two penalties for 1:30 of penalty time, while the Tigers had four penalties for 4:00 of penalty time.
The Tigers are back in action Monday, March 9, when they host Cornell College starting at 6:00 p.m.
